Welcome to the Faraday® Challenge Season 2024-2025
As the regional delivery partners for the East of England we’re thrilled to welcome schools, colleges and host organisations for this season of the Faraday® Challenge.
There are 3 ways to take part in the challenge:
Option 1: host one of our Challenge Leader-led IET Faraday® Challenge Days at your school with the option to invite teams from up to five other local schools.
Option 2: apply to be an invited school and take one team from your school along to another local event.
Option 3: host one of our Challenge Leader-led IET Faraday® Challenge Days at your Organisation/University and invite teams from up to six local schools.

About the Challenge

Each Challenge Day provides six teams of six students, aged 12 to 13 years (Year 8) with the opportunity to research, design and make prototype solutions to real-world engineering problems.
The IET Faraday® Challenge is an annual competition of STEM activity days, which are designed to be cross curricular and cover hands on activities spanning science, technology, engineering and maths.
Each Challenge Day will be set up and run by our team of STEM professionals at no charge to UK schools.

National League Table
Don’t forget to keep an eye on our national league table to see if your school appears, and best of luck to all teams taking part this season. East of England is Zone 6. View the league tables for the 2024-2025 season below.

The National Final
The top teams at the end of the season are invited to the National Final to battle it out to be crowned the IET Faraday® National Champion and will win a cash prize of up to £1000 for their school to spend on STEM activities.

Taking part?
If you’re taking part in an IET Faraday® Challenge Day you’ll be sent all the information you need in the run up to your event. The packs will provide you with all of the details required for hosting and/or participating.
